I think I might be a z00phile

Something around 2 weeks ago my cat was in heat which was making me feel frustrated that she was "unsatisfied". I was pitying her at some point and also my home situation wasn't in it's finest just as my mental health. I genuinely didn't throught I would survive then, and so I finally broke and decided to help my cat as helping was always making me feel better about myself. Not just in sexual way, I mean I just like helping people with simple tasks etc. and I feel proud of myself when doing that cuz I simply don't like myself.
And so, one evening I was holding my cat on my lap, patting her, but it wasn't really helping. I tried hugging, kissing her nose (not in sexual nor romantic way), but then after realizing she was still needy I broke. As I mentioned earlier my mental state was screwed and I didn't throught much. No second throughts or whatsoever, I just felt that need to help to feel better. It was kind of like derealization, I honestly didn't knew what was going on then, like my body was working on its own. Need some advice. I work for a very large company in a specialized role and have been there for 2 years. About 3 months ago, we got a new CIO, and there was an upper management shakeup. The new regime decided they wanted to get rid of on-prem servers and either move to Cloud or SAAS Hosting. If they go to the cloud, I am safe, but if what I oversee goes to SAAS, then I am done immediately. They have not been communicating what they are learning, and told me back in late October, I would know by Thanksgiving, which became X-Mas, then became the 1st of the year. Now I am being told that in early Spring, they will decide. I find it incredibly stressful, and it really put a damper on my Holidays and trying to enjoy them with young kids at home. So I am looking for some non-biased feedback. Should I hang tight, or should I start aggressively looking?
Just to add a quick edit - The stress has really gotten to me. I have voiced my concerns and even had a few outbursts on conference calls. One of the most frustrating things is I have to constantly ask (once a week) one a status update, and they act like I am being unreasonable for wanting to know.

What is your "I did that" moment - an achievement that most people haven't experienced?

I am currently on maternity leave from my boring job and feeling a bit invisible. Obviously I am a slave to my gorgeous baby, her elder sister and the housework at the moment, but it's making me realise that apart from my children, my marriage and my steady life (although it hasn't always been that way), I haven't done anything I am proud of or is interesting to share.
Outside of your respective careers, have you written a book? Climbed Everest? Helped build a school in Africa? Come up with a revolutionary invention? Got a pilots licence?
Tell me about it: this is a space to brag and inspire.
