CMV: While tragic, the woman’s death in Minnesota was primarily the result of her own voluntary actions, not because the

Prefacing that is not an argument about immigration law, ICE legitimacy, or police training so please stay on topic about what opinion to be changed .
She knowingly entered an active federal law-enforcement operation involving armed agents operating under high stress. She verbally confronted them, panicked when approached and attempted to flee leading to physical contact . In such environments, agents make split second decisions based on perceived threat, not perfect judgment. In this case the guy panicked and reacted .
Once you insert yourself into that situation, the risk of lethal force becomes non-hypothetical. That does not mean she “ deserved”to die. It means the outcome was a non neglectable possibility , consequence of voluntary risk-taking. Framing an active enforcement operation as an opportunity for performative “Resistance” against perceived (real or not) injustice ignores the fact that these encounters are real and not a game. They are real-world situations involving weapons, elevated stress, and again, split-second decision-making. Disagreement with policy does not change the mechanics of how risk escalates in such environment.
If the goal is policy change, the app

CMV: Building up legal community organization will do nothing when the goal of the government is to kill your entire com

Please be aware this is not a call for illegal action.
I have heard repeatedly that legal community organizing should be our strategy to resist fascism in the United States.
I do not doubt that under most circumstances this could save lives. It could provide food, homes and medicine.
I do not believe that it is in any way useful when the state has a monopoly on violence and those with power have no morals, hate your community, want you dead, and will face no enforceable legal consequences for killing you.
I can build the most beautiful community garden that could feed thousands and watch it burn at the hands of a single government agent with a flamethrower. I can build a happy home with my own two hands that will keep the people I love warm through the winter and see it destroyed with a single government approved artillery shell. There is nothing legal that I can build that someone with the power of the government behind them who wants me dead cannot simply destroy immediately along with me.
If the laws on the books do not have any mechanism to punish someone for killing me or those like me, then community organization does little but provide a bit more space to pray that the socie

Starting a business

My buddy just started a painting business as a side gig and he asked me to help him get it off the ground. I’ve never painted houses but I paint battleships for work so I’m pretty experienced. The conditions are: I have to find the work.
I’m looking for advice on how to grow this business as far as advertising and presentation goes. Any help is appreciated!

I think I need a lobotomy

I'm not even kidding, I think I'm genuinely unfixable. I've done therapy for years and they've tried like every type of therapy and nothing worked. I have tons of meds but they don't work as much as they need to. My psychologists don't even fully know what's wrong with me even tho I already have multiple diagnosis. They've pretty much already given up on me.
But it's not like I'm not trying because I always am. I've been open to every kind of treatment. There so much I want in the future, it's not like I've ever given up on life or haven't wanted to get better. I do sports and like 10 other hobbies and I spend time with my family and friends and I take care of my physical health. It's not like I'm a bedrotter or something, or like I lack the will to change. But it STILL doesn't work. And then people get in my face and have the audacity to say that's it's still my fault and that I'm not trying hard enough or that I don't want to change. That's what pisses me off the most. If I do everything possible then how can it still be my fault.
They just need to lock me in a room and never let me out again or genuinely lobotomize me. I hate myself and everyone else hates me too because I break
