what actually helps depression?
im sixteen and ive honestly tried everything and nothing seems to do anything to help it, the whole of last year i was severely depressed and i begged and begged for professional help but i cant afford it and doctors tell me im not sick enough yet.
i just want it to be out of my system now, its been almost seven years. im so beyond tired of it. i just want a week where its not there and i can breathe. i think i have a decent life besides being poor and in a fucked up house hold. im confident and i have a friend, one friend. i cant seem to find any other friends yet but collage is soon so thats helpful.
it just never seems to leave, i cant have a week where it isnt there. anytime i feel good and am happy something happens to ruin it. i was having the absolute best month of my life. i was so unbelievably happy constantly. i was so excited to be awake and then i get hit with my mother being a drug addict and hiding it from me for the last five years.

My autistic family member is hard to be around
A family member, he's 24 but intellectually around 6 or 7. They can be very sweet but for the vast majority of the time they're just so much. Threw a cricket ball at my head today in the pool. Tried 'hugging me' in the deep end even though I said I'm not a strong swimmer and it scares me, and it feels like I'm going to drown. Just want to float in the pool and relax, but no. We HAVE to play a game. I either play the game, leave the pool, or have to listen to them asking me to play the game for 20 minutes straight getting increasingly more aggressive and violent when I keep saying no. So you leave the pool.
Coming into the lounge while we're watching a movie, putting on his laptop and laughing hysterically. We ask him to watch quietly but nope, just not possible. "Please watch quietly we're trying to watch tv" "Fuck you bitch".
Them sitting in a car that's 120 degrees, because they can't understand that lunch is still 3 hours away. And that we are not, in fact, going out. We never were. There's the ensuing 2 hours of your life trying to get this adult body with a child's brain to get out of the car that they're going to die in if they stay there.

17F I have a really good life so why do I still feel so bad?
My family adores me, I have good friends, I have always been a #1 student, I have never had any money issues in my life (God my family can afford to pay a private college for me and still live normally) so I don’t understand why I always feel so bad and depressed when some of my friends have worse problems than me
But I just can’t stop crying in the night or feeling empty and how much I’m going to waste my life and end up miserable and I already hate myself and my face and everything about me and even though I go to college it wasn’t in a degree I wanted, and I wanted to have a happy life with a husband and kids but even that idea has been disgusting me and it looks impossible for me
So now I end up pretending I’m happy and just bottling up my feelings when I’m actually depressed for being sad because I have no excuse to feel bad for anything

I am sick of my in laws inability to maintain a home
We’ve always had a mostly good relationship with my in-laws. They show up for my kids, family gatherings, if something comes up and I need someone to watch the kids for work or whatever they almost always volunteer. Our kids love them dearly and love to spend time with them. About 8 years ago they bought a home on a rent to own contract and was able to pay it off last year. They got a good deal on the 3 bedroom 2 bath trailer with a couple acres only paying around 35,000 for it. The bones of the home was still good but it was in need of some updates as the home still had the original late 80’s wallpaper, flooring, etc. honestly over time the home has fallen apart. My FIL works part time handy man type jobs and also gets disability, my MIL works nights cleaning banks so she gets home and asleep around 6am and sleeps until late afternoon each day. Over time these original pieces have gotten destroyed and also just laziness has destroyed part too. There is also a lack of discipline in the home, as they still have now teens and young adults in the home. Some examples is they have a large roach infestation, I have hired an exterminator for my own home because of them and pay $50 a month

You don't understand how much I look forward to making my hot water bottle every evening. While I'm removing my makeup and getting ready for bed, I put it under my duvet. Then, when I get into bed, it's already warm. I love it. Wow – my first love letter is to a hot water bottle!
What is the best way for you to relax after a long day?
I usually get together with my dad and my neighbors to play dominoes, they taught me how to play. I also often go to the mall with my friends... sometimes I don't even buy anything, I just walk around and look at the stores and eat something, but the simple act of walking there gives me a lot of peace. I want to know what you guys usually do so I can get some tips and change up my routine a little.
Why are we feeling that watching something online doesn't feel the same as before
