I'm gonna make a long story short, we have been talking for about a month now, things went from 1 to 100 really fast, we've kissed twice and almost every night

cmv: The vast majority of US politicians represent their constituents pretty closely and are not bought and paid for by

I do see the government as polarized, partisan, and dysfunctional. Don't get me wrong there. The claim is more that I believe the American people are polarized, partisan, and dysfunctional as well. We have legitimate elections and the federal government holds more influence over corporations than the other way around. I've heard some of the counter arguments of course. Corporate lobbying and the "revolving door" makes sense to me. Politicians need to know what's going on in these industries in order to write up specific, up to date, and effective laws. The donor class isn't in control of elections imo. The candidate with less money wins quite a bit in American politics. Donors who fund Democrats and Republicans? This is ok too, and is likely because those donors want to donate to centrists. Try me with your best points. The claim is genuine, but I'm open to being wrong.

CMV: Luxury brand logos are mostly used to signal wealth people do not actually have, and they encourage debt-driven con

I think highly visible luxury brands (Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc.) are largely a status illusion aimed at people who lack actual wealth or financial security.
From my perspective, brand-name consumer goods are not assets. They depreciate, they do not compound, and any appreciation that happens is speculative and rare. Most of these items are mass-produced, which means scarcity is artificial. Limited drops and waitlists simulate exclusivity, but real scarcity comes from constrained skill, labor, materials, or time, not marketing.
Because of this, I see overt branding as compensatory signaling. Anyone with access to credit can buy a logo. That makes it a cheap shortcut to the appearance of wealth, not evidence of it. In many cases, the premium paid for branding crowds out higher-quality, unbranded, or hand-crafted alternatives that deliver equal or better durability and function without the markup.
I also think this behavior actively encourages debt. Luxury branding normalizes financing discretionary items and reframes consumption as identity. The brand owner benefits from scale and loyalty; the consumer absorbs depreciation and opportunity cost.
I’m not arguing that every person wear

There are some unexpected aspects to aging that I hadn't anticipated.

I always believed that as I grew older, my life would become clearer and more confident. But in reality, I've found that problems have increased—though not in a terrible way, but rather in a quieter, more rational manner.
I'm gradually reassessing my capabilities and energy levels, readjusting my perspectives on certain matters. Things that once seemed unreasonable now feel like I'd still choose the same path if given the chance again.
These shifts in outlook don't happen overnight—they unfold slowly and quietly, sometimes bringing me peace, other times the opposite.
I wonder if others have experienced something similar

How much of the world history events/facts do you think is hidden from us?

What if Charlie Kirk is actually still alive or MJ is still alive or whoever we think is "dead" is still alive or died long before and the person who is dead is just an imposter, I really don't know anymore because everything in society is contradictory, some people still think the Moon landing is real, 9/11 was done by a Al queda or that Democracy still exists or one of the biggest ones COVID was legit and that the only way to stay safe was to stay indoors, wear a mask and get the poison.. I mean "vaccine" and then we were meant to believe all these celebrities got it too so we should,I Never get got the poison though. There's certain people that I respect like George Carlin (rip) David icke, philosophers like Alan watts(RIP), Carl Jung(RIP) , Donald trump (I'm just kidding I don't respect that piece of shit) who I think knew/know too much but they're either smart enough to not tell everyone everything so or even if they did they don't have a large enough following to threaten the elitists, but I definitely think that most historical events have been tampered with by the Jews , like WW2 and Adolf Hitler, the Jews as a whole are evil and I'm not saying this as a fact but I think Hi

Same old song

So I had my meeting at work...bullet dodged for now but my hunch was right and they put my on a pip to possibly get rid of me in March. That would make them sleep easier cause I'd get my bonus and they wouldn't be sending me off totally broke but who knows. It was definitely eye opening cause like I mentioned I do love my job and actually want to stay here. I was really sad to hear how many people went to HR on me for being trans and existing...like it was so shitty even my child's mother who hates my transition was like fuck that you should get a lawyer 😬 where's that support any other time 😅 but I'm gonna be doing my best and trying and thanking God we dodge this one and get this chance. Love ya guys have a good Friday

i think my ex used me to cope with being gay.

i’ve known my ex my entire life, he was my brothers best friend since elementary school. we ended up dating when i was 19.
since i’ve known him forever, i’ve also known all his phases in life. in 2020 he came out as trans and gay, stating he’s been sleeping with men for years and dressing up in women’s clothing for years. i was supportive of this as we were only friends at the time. he never told his family because they are extremely religious and politically charged, and they would disown him.
this didn’t last longer for a year, he quickly said it wasn’t true and that he was confused. he said he wasn’t a woman and that he wasn’t attracted to men. i was confused but didn’t really question it.
fast forward i think a year later, we began dating. he would never talk about that part of his life, anytime i mentioned anything it was immediate shut down.
i tried not to think much of it, but then a lot of issues were coming to my attention with our intimate life. he wanted to be completely submissive to me, he wanted me to peg him etc and he would become feminine in the bedroom and just generally want me to act masculine towards him. he would fantasize about watching me with black men and

Hello fellow Casualties. Podcasts?

I am starting a job next week that involves a considerable amount of miles and I cannot stand commercial radio, so I need some podcast recommendations.
What I currently listen to:
\- Smith and Sniff
\- Parenting Hell
\- Off Menu
\- Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend
\- C.R.E.A.M
I enjoy cars and laughing, but I also like history and just interesting things so I’m open to suggestions.
Might as well open the floor as well for anyone else looking at suggestions - what do you listen to and why would you recommend it?
Thanks!

A small morning surprise

This morning I was sitting down with my coffee, ready for a quiet start to the day, when my cat decided to make things interesting. She jumped onto the table, nudged my mug, and then just stared at me like she was expecting me to join in on the fun. I spent a few minutes cleaning up, but honestly, watching her little antics made me laugh. After all, she hopped into my chair like she owned the place, completely unbothered by the mess.It reminded me that sometimes small, unexpected moments can make a normal morning feel a little brighter.
