I don't get why my parents can't accept that I'm an exceedingly average person.

A bit about me, when I was in high school I was in one honors class and the rest were all regular classes. In college I was a straight B/C student. Now in the working world I work a job that's seen as mundane, but it pays the bills and I'm actually rather well off for my age.
My parents, on the other hand, have this idea that I ought to be amazing and ruling the world or something. They ask if I'm still working "that stupid pencil pushing job" and they ask when I'll start doing real work that matters. When I mention that I went up for a special position at work but didn't get it, they say stuff like "why not? No way were those other applicants better than you." When I was in school I mentioned how certain programs I was enrolled in had an extremely low chance of making As in but they said stuff like "yeah but you'll make an A because you're smarter than most people" Surprise, I didn't.
They have this idea that I'm some kind of super genius or whatever, but the truth is I'm just a painfully normal person. I'm fine with it and I enjoy my life, and I get that I won't always win at life, but they have this idea that I ought to be winning at everything but all the jerks around me are stifling my amazingness.
For context, I did learn to read very young in life but that's about the only thing that's different about me. My comprehension was just like everyone else's.

More and more i am learning to be with myself and enjoying my own company I have started to feel like love/relationships are a waste of time rather chase something cool like money obviously!!!
