CMV: Child support money should be used by the caregiver however they see fit
Child support money should be used by the caregiver however they see fit. They can use it on themselves, to buy stuff for themselves as long as the child is getting all their needs met.
The reason for this is because the caregiver pays for the child whenever it’s required. For example, if the child needs to go to the dentist, the caregiver will pay for it with their own money when necessary, not wait for the other parent to pay child support in order to pay for it half and half. Let’s say the dentist appointment is 400€/$/£ (whatever currency you want to use). That means the caregiver is at least 200€/$/£ short that month because they had to pay for the child. So the caregiver is entitled to spend 200€/$/£ from the child support on whatever they want.
Another argument is bills. The caregiver needs to pay for a bigger apartment/house, pays more for bills because the child uses water, electricity, heating etc. The caregiver pays the bill themselves, therefore they are entitled to spent at least 1/4 the amount they pay for the bills/rent out of the child support however they want.

the direction makes sense but the details are messy which explains why reactions are split Time will tell.
Reaction: Take it off us, It burns us!!!
On the surface, this solves one problem while creating another Curious how this plays out.
this feels rushed rather than thought through That’s just how it reads to me.
From the outside, there’s a gap between the message and the outcome That’s the impression it gives me.
Reaction: very shocking
From a neutral view, the main issue seems to be how this is handled At least from my perspective.
the framing does a lot of heavy lifting here and that’s what people are responding to Not convinced this is settled yet. That’s just my read on it.
the idea isn’t bad, but the delivery is doing damage
Not gonna lie, there’s a gap between the message and the outcome
Stepping back, this feels like a half-step, not a full move which makes the reaction pretty predictable That’s just my read on it.
Reaction: Why am I scared? Probably because one time my grandma got pulled over when I was a kid and she told the cop that her bad driving was because of me and he came to my window. I didnt do anythi

Trying to be fair, the main issue seems to be how this is handled and that friction is hard to ignore This could age very differently in a week.
the follow-through is what will decide this so the response doesn’t surprise me
Bluntly speaking, this depends heavily on what happens next Let’s see what happens next.
From the outside, the idea isn’t bad, but the delivery is doing damage and that’s why opinions are all over the place That part stands out. Interested to see the follow-up. That’s the impression it gives me.
If you zoom out, the wording alone shifts how people read this That part stands out. Interested to see the follow-up.
Trying to be fair, this depends heavily on what happens next and that’s why this won’t land the same for everyone Feels like there’s more coming here. That’s just my read on it.
Putting bias aside, the intention might be solid, the rollout less so which explains why reactions are split Not convinced this is settled yet.
