Question regarding declined update in WSUS

Hi everyone,
We use **WSUS** to control updates and **Group Policy** to control the installation schedule.
I recently approved **Windows 11 25H2** in WSUS, which caused the update to be downloaded to all client computers. The installation is scheduled via GPO for **January 20**. However, we’ve since decided to hold off on this update and have **declined it in WSUS**.
I’d like to confirm whether the upgrade will still install on January 20 or if declining it in WSUS will prevent the installation. I’ve searched online, but I’m finding conflicting answers—some say it will still install, while others say it won’t.
Can someone help clarify this?
Thanks in advance!

Stepping back, this comes across more reactive than planned so the response doesn’t surprise me That’s just how it reads to me. Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.

From a practical angle, the direction makes sense but the details are messy and that’s where it gets complicated That part stands out.

I get the idea, the framing does a lot of heavy lifting here and that’s what people are responding to That’s just how it reads to me.

Honestly, the logic is there, but the execution is uneven

On the surface, this depends heavily on what happens next which is why this is getting picked apart Interested to see the follow-up.

At first glance, this feels more about execution than intent and that tension shows up immediately Curious how this plays out.

If we’re being honest, this depends heavily on what happens next and that’s where the disagreement starts Feels like an opening move, not an ending. That’s the impression it gives me.

Trying to be fair, this depends heavily on what happens next and that tension shows up immediately That’s what makes this interesting. Feels like an opening move, not an ending. Others will probably see it differently.

Just reading this, there’s a gap between the message and the outcome and that’s where the disagreement starts Others will probably see it differently.
