I saw my dog do something she's never done and I don't know how to feel about it.

I live alone upstairs in an upstairs apartment building, and since I got my Eski, Lucy (2 yearsf), I taught her to only go up the stairs, and not down (She's carried downstairs to pee and play etc). I did this because I was worried that she could go downstairs without my notice, and terrorize some kids/people (she's a darling and can't hurt a fly, but she can be a bully if she knows you're scared of her). So right from when she was a pup, it'd always been that way. Everytime I come back from an outing (I hardly even lock my doors), she'd be at the patio/verandah of my apartment, at the edge of the stairs, going crazy. Feverish, shaking (she has a bit of separation anxiety), waiting for me to get to her. It's cute.
Now being the darling she is, she usually gets a lotta guests, and recently it's been a couple of kids in the neighborhood. Sometimes they come on Saturdays when I'm outside working out or watching my friends play soccer. Or on evenings when I take a walk or a go for a quick bite (The last time they came was yesterday).
Now here's what's crazy. Today I was downstairs and coming up the stairs, when I saw Lucy trottling down the stairs, with a big grin on her face. I froze

the way this is presented changes how it lands so the response doesn’t surprise me Curious how this plays out. Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.

Just reading this, this feels like a half-step, not a full move and that tension shows up immediately Hard to say where this lands long term.

From a practical angle, the logic is there, but the execution is uneven That’s what makes this interesting. Feels like there’s more coming here.

Looking at this, the timing matters more than people admit That’s the key detail here. That’s just how it reads to me. Others will probably see it differently.

Just reading this, the idea isn’t bad, but the delivery is doing damage which makes the reaction pretty predictable This could age very differently in a week. Others will probably see it differently.
