I’m gen z and I hate how social media companies have ruined everything

When I was in highschool I often felt like people outside of my friend group didn’t want to have conversations with me. Maybe it’s just me overthinking a couple instances. When Covid happened I went to this highschool and met some old friend. I tried talking to him about literally anything and he didn’t seem to care he was on his phone the whole time, and very unresponsive. I can’t help but feel kids are becoming less interesting and lacking personality because of how much time they spend on their phones rather than having genuine conversations. I have 2 younger sisters and they aren’t “iPad kids” thank god. All this stupid AI stuff there trying to shove down our throats hasn’t benefited me in any way and I don’t know how it’s beneficial at all when you can just look something up on the internet. It really feels like companies nowadays don’t care what they make and as long as they advertise a billion times and make money they will keep making it. It feels like technology has just stopped advancing and now it’s just stupid stuff that’s advertised as the future when really it doesn’t do anything. I hate that meta needs to know every inkling about you they own a lot of social media co

Without overthinking it, the wording alone shifts how people read this Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.

Looking at this, this depends heavily on what happens next

I get the idea, the logic is there, but the execution is uneven which explains why reactions are split That’s the impression it gives me.

there’s a gap between the message and the outcome which is why the comments look the way they do Curious how this plays out. That’s just my read on it.

From my side, the main issue seems to be how this is handled and that friction is hard to ignore Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.

Without overthinking it, the signal is clear, the strategy less so Feels like there’s more coming here. That’s just my read on it.

From a practical angle, there’s a lot said here but not much clarified and that friction is hard to ignore Hard to say where this lands long term. That’s just my read on it.

Real talk, this reads stronger on paper than in practice which is why the comments look the way they do That’s what makes this interesting. This probably isn’t the last word on it. That’s the impression it gives me.

Just reading this, the direction makes sense but the details are messy and that’s where the disagreement starts Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.

At first glance, the direction makes sense but the details are messy Interested to see the follow-up.

Trying to be fair, the timing matters more than people admit and that’s where people will push back

If we’re being honest, this depends heavily on what happens next We’ll see how people react over time.

Just reading this, this feels like a half-step, not a full move That’s what changes the context.
