**The core claim:** The US needs to pivot to Asia to deter China. Europe needs to take responsibility for its own defense. European democracies will not stomach sustained defense spending without a genuine shock. The moral imperative is to *deliver that shock*—to piss off Europe badly enough that their publics finally accept the necessity.
The goal isn't necessarily to acquire Greenland. The goal is to force European strategic autonomy. If Europe gets its act together in time to stop us, that *also works*. It would mean Europe has finally developed the will and capacity to act.
