CMV: I don’t see a point in caring

Every single day I see hundreds if not thousands of posts on (this groups) rights and (this groups) rights. I see post about what we (US) are doing elsewhere ect. And I read both sides of the argument and watch both sides turn to name calling and even threats and despite all that I just don’t care.
Is it effecting me? No? Then I don’t care. I just can’t comprehend why anyone would give a shit about anything other than themselves and their loved ones.
Before I’m labeled as a racist or nazi or whatever I’ll get this out of the way.
Me: white male
Wife: disabled white female
Son: white male dating non binary person who I think the world of
These are the people I care about and nothing that is happening does anything to them.
So seriously why do you all care so much about people you don’t and won’t ever know? Why reduce yourself to such anger and despair of shit you literally cannot change?

this comes across more reactive than planned and that’s the part people are stuck on Interested to see the follow-up. Others will probably see it differently.

At first glance, the idea isn’t bad, but the delivery is doing damage and that tension shows up immediately Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.

To be fair, the follow-through is what will decide this That’s what makes this interesting. Hard to say where this lands long term.

the framing does a lot of heavy lifting here and that’s why this won’t land the same for everyone That part stands out. Feels like an opening move, not an ending. That’s the impression it gives me.
