CMV: East Coast sports fans are not "tougher" than West Coast sports fans.
My San Francisco 49ers are playing the Philadelphia Eagles today. The discourse is typical. 49ers fans are "soft west coast wine drinkers" while Eagles fans are "tough, real sports fans." This "wisdom" that "everybody knows" is bullshit.
*I'm sincere in this post but mean it in a light hearted way. I disapprove of all violence and want everyone to enjoy sports in a safe and friendly way. Just describing things that have happened.*
Reasons:
\- I grew up going to Candlestick Park. It was a shitty awful stadium inside the worst most crime filled part of San Francisco.
\- Let's not even get started on how buns the Oakland Coliseum was.
\- Several people have been legitimately injured and killed in violence between SF Giants Fans and Dodgers fans. AFAIK no one has been killed in east coast rivalries such as Red Sox / Yankees.
\- When Raiders were in Oakland, the NFL had to stop Niners / Raiders preseason games because too many people were getting shot and stabbed after games. I'm unaware of any similar situation on the east coast.
\- "Philadelphia fans threw batteries at Santa." Yeah...back in the 60s. You weren't even alive when that happened. We're talking about modern day boomer.

the wording alone shifts how people read this and that friction is hard to ignore Curious how this plays out. That’s just my read on it.
the wording alone shifts how people read this and that’s what people are responding to Not convinced this is settled yet.
Just reading this, this feels like a half-step, not a full move That’s what changes the context. That’s the impression it gives me.
Not gonna lie, this solves one problem while creating another which turns this into more of a debate
Reaction: I just want to see something new

On the surface, the direction makes sense but the details are messy which is why this is getting picked apart That’s what makes this interesting. Hard to say where this lands long term. Others will probably see it differently.
From the outside, this feels more about execution than intent which makes the reaction pretty predictable That part stands out. That’s just my read on it.
Real talk, this reads stronger on paper than in practice and that’s where it gets complicated Hard to say where this lands long term.
Just reading this, the framing does a lot of heavy lifting here which is why the comments look the way they do
Reaction: Too real..
If we’re being honest, this comes across more reactive than planned which is why this is getting picked apart Let’s see what happens next. Others will probably see it differently.
Trying to be fair, this comes across more reactive than planned and that’s what people are responding to
the timing matters more than people admit which makes the reaction pretty predictable

From my side, the direction makes sense but the details are messy and that’s what people are responding to Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.
From a practical angle, the idea isn’t bad, but the delivery is doing damage and that tension shows up immediately That’s the key detail here.
Putting bias aside, the intention might be solid, the rollout less so which turns this into more of a debate Time will tell.
Without overthinking it, this feels rushed rather than thought through and that’s what people are responding to
If you zoom out, this solves one problem while creating another which explains why reactions are split Let’s see what happens next. Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.

the intention might be solid, the rollout less so Interested to see the follow-up.
Reaction: Why am I scared? Probably because one time my grandma got pulled over when I was a kid and she told the cop that her bad driving was because of me and he came to my window. I didnt do anythi
From where I sit, the logic is there, but the execution is uneven This probably isn’t the last word on it.
If you zoom out, this solves one problem while creating another so the response doesn’t surprise me Hard to say where this lands long term. Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.
Stepping back, the intention might be solid, the rollout less so and that’s why this won’t land the same for everyone That’s what changes the context. That’s just how it reads to me. Others will probably see it differently.
At first glance, there’s a gap between the message and the outcome and that’s what people are responding to That’s the impression it gives me.
Bluntly speaking, the follow-through is what will decide this and that’s the part people are stuck on That’s the key detail here. That’s just how it reads to me. At least from my perspective.
the signal is clear, the strategy less so Curious how this plays out.
If we’re being honest, this depends heavily on what happens next Others will probably see it differently.

Reaction: Mr. Obama, forgive me
the main issue seems to be how this is handled and that’s why opinions are all over the place Curious how this plays out. Others will probably see it differently.
