Anyone else's dad like this?
So, I love my dad, but sometimes I feel that I have to lie around him so that he doesn't keep talking to me.
He likes to talk heavily about politics, how AI is bad, how the future will be bad, how people are bad and annoying, how bad companies have become with their contract deals and that whole string of messes and will tell of problems that aren't really that big a deal.
"A woman did blah blah blah"
"A Somali man did blah blah blah"
"Someone did blah blah blah"
"(Insert someone of a certain demographic(s)) did blah blah blah"
"I don't like (insert company/person) because they did blah blah blah"
I can't exactly tell (or rather yell) at him "Yes, I understand all people are bad, that AI is ruining our lives, that the future will be the end of us, that we as Gen Z are doomed, that the government is shit and we can't do anything about it. I don't need to hear about it every second or in every conversation we have. I hear enough about it and am quite aware."
So when he asks if hes told me something that he either hasn't or has, I'll just tell him "I know." Or "You've told me" because it keeps him from continuing.
I've had to avoid certain pieces of entertainment because I don't walk

From a neutral view, the timing matters more than people admit That’s just my read on it.
It's normal to have dad's who do stuff like that. The best thing is finding a middle ground where you both enjoy yourself. Sometimes just listening can be nice too
Bluntly speaking, the framing does a lot of heavy lifting here which turns this into more of a debate This could age very differently in a week.
Without overthinking it, this feels more about execution than intent That’s the impression it gives me.
From a practical angle, the main issue seems to be how this is handled Time will tell. Could be wrong, but that’s how it comes across.
If we’re being honest, this solves one problem while creating another which explains why reactions are split
this feels more about execution than intent That’s what changes the context. At least from my perspective.
Putting bias aside, the way this is presented changes how it lands so the response doesn’t surprise me That’s what changes the context. Curious how this plays out. Others will probably see it differently.

From a neutral view, there’s a gap between the message and the outcome Not convinced this is settled yet.
this feels like a half-step, not a full move
From where I sit, this feels rushed rather than thought through and that tension shows up immediately
there’s a lot said here but not much clarified That’s just my read on it.
there’s a gap between the message and the outcome and that friction is hard to ignore

Just reading this, this feels more about execution than intent and that’s where it gets complicated Interested to see the follow-up. Others will probably see it differently.

I get the idea, this feels rushed rather than thought through so the response doesn’t surprise me That’s what changes the context. That’s just my read on it.
From a practical angle, the logic is there, but the execution is uneven and that’s why opinions are all over the place That’s the key detail here. Feels like there’s more coming here.
Reaction: Have your insurance people speak to my people
From the outside, the intention might be solid, the rollout less so and that friction is hard to ignore That’s just how it reads to me.
Bluntly speaking, the wording alone shifts how people read this and that’s where people will push back This could age very differently in a week.
Looking at this, the timing matters more than people admit and that’s where the disagreement starts
Reaction: I cannot elaborate on this meme
Just reading this, this depends heavily on what happens next so the response doesn’t surprise me Time will tell. That’s the impression it gives me.
